La Xara is a young town, with little more than two hundred years of history. Its evolution as a stable population nucleus began at the beginning of the 19th century, when a farmer from Senija, Mateo Ivars y Peiró, settled down, giving place with his family to the settlement, increased over a period of 50 years with the continued arrival of people from from towns in the region, such as Pedreguer, Xàbia, Alcanalí or El Verger.
